 Grant Opportunities in Nassau and Suffolk Counties
The Nassau/Suffolk Local Home Purchase Program offers up to $30,000 for acquisition in the form of additional down payment and/or closing cost assistance. Gross household income must be at or below 80% of Area Median Income Maximum Gross Household Income Requirements. The grant assistance is in the form of a deferred forgivable loan with no payments that declines over time. The owner must occupy the property for 10 years to avoid having to pay back any or all of the assistance. If the recipient were to move out of the property or sell, or in anyway violate the terms of his/her mortgage, then all or a portion of the assistance will have to be repaid.The purchase price limits for this grant for single family homes are $394,250 in Nassau County and $323,000 in Suffolk County.

- You must agree to occupy the home as a principal residence.
- You will be required to submit proof of income with recent pay stubs and last two years tax returns and W-2 Forms.
- You will be required to attend a FREE homebuyer seminar and homebuyer counseling.
- Your application will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. If you meet eligibility requirements, we will assist you in qualifying for a mortgage with participating lenders.
Long Island Application
Upon attending a CHI home buyer seminar you may submit an application. Once all documents have been processed and reviewed by the Grants Administrator, if your file is approved, you will be contacted to come in for a one-on-one interview/counseling. If you are mortgage ready and still eligible under our program requirements, you will receive a grant certificate at that time or as indicated by the Grants Administrator.
