Beautiful CHI-renovated home to be sold at auction this Sunday! Bidding to start at $279,000
Community Housing Innovations has just completed renovation of a 5-bedroom, 2-bath home in Freeport and will sell it this Sunday to a lucky homebuyer with its trademarked “Negotiated Auction.” Unlike the traditional auction, the winning bidder will have 10 days without penalty to decide whether or not to proceed with the sale and 45 days to get a mortgage. If the winner fails to proceed, CHI will go to the next bidder in line.
According to CHI executive director Alexander Roberts, “The Negotiated Auction combines the fairness of an auction with the homebuyer protections of a negotiated sale.”

Sign up for “Fair and Affordable” Homes in Westchester County Opportunities to buy affordable homes in places like
Ardsley, Katonah, Harrison, Larchmont, etc. coming soon
As part of its response to the federal discrimination settlement order, Westchester County has set up a new Central Intake Registration System for prospective homebuyers. The county is required to develop 750 affordable homes in 31 heavily segregated areas of Westchester County over seven years to foster equal opportunity. The registration site is now available for families to complete. Households who complete this form will be contacted in the future as fair and affordable housing opportunities arise. Families will be encouraged to complete their homebuyer counseling with access to the agencies that provide this training, including CHI.
