Mr. Katz joined Community Housing Innovations in January 2019 as the Controller. He reports to the CFO, works closely with members of the executive team, and supervises a team of five accountants. He is responsible for overseeing all accounting processes, manages the annual financial audit and tax return filings, and works with the CFO to prepare budgets and financial statements and to establish accounting policies and procedures.

Mr. Katz has worked in the nonprofit accounting industry for over 15 years. Prior to working at Community Housing Innovations, he was the Controller at Israel Cancer Research Fund, where he managed all financial, legal, insurance, and human resources activities, presented financial reports to the Board of Directors, and streamlined accounting processes at the national and regional offices. Previously, he was an auditor in Eisner Amper’s nonprofit department, auditing mid-sized nonprofit organizations throughout NYC.

Mr. Katz earned a master’s degree in accountancy from Baruch College (CUNY), an MBA from Bar-Ilan University in Tel-Aviv, and a bachelor’s degree from McGill University in Montreal. He has served on the boards of several organizations and is currently the Treasurer of the Jewish Burial Society in Stamford, CT.
