WHITE PLAINS, NY – March 6, 2017 – On Saturday, March 11, from 11am to 4pm, the Westchester Interfaith Housing Corporation, in partnership with Housing Action Council and Westchester Residential Opportunities, is sponsoring a free program of workshops and exhibits to help moderate-income families explore housing opportunities including homeownership and rental. Held at the Westchester County Center, the Fair and Affordable Housing Expo is an annual event where members of the public can attend several informational sessions and meet with lenders, realtors and not-for-profit counselors to guide potential homebuyers through the homeownership process. Topics for discussion include: what available loans, mortgages and grants are available for me; what are the most affordable listings; how to navigate “Homeseeker Online;” and availability of fair and affordable rental housing opportunities. Nonprofits, including Community Housing Innovations, will be there to discuss their programs and to meet those looking for assistance, from first-time homebuyers to those who may need foreclosure counseling and education.
