Journal News: Townhouse proposals proliferate
By Ernie Garcia — June 4, 2014
Lower construction costs, a growing empty-nester population and scarce land have developers proposing townhouses for northern Westchester County parcels facing subdivision.
Toll Brothers proposes a 70-unit townhouse complex on an 18-acre site in Pleasantville, Hidden Meadow at Somers proposes 45 townhouses on a 16.7-acre plot and Somers Crossing proposes 80 townhouses next to the Somers Town Centre.
The projects target families with children and older adults seeking affordable alternatives to detached, single-family homes.
