How to Make a Real Estate Donation (It’s Easy!)

  • Step 1

    Application

    You provide basic information about the property using our simple form.

  • Step 2

    Review

    We review the information from Step 1 and provide a timely approval with a contract that commits CHI to accept the property, subject to satisfactory title, tax, lien and violation searches.

  • Step 3

    Final Approval

    We perform title, tax, lien and violation searches and if satisfactory, schedule closing. Donor performs appraisal for tax purposes (not shared with CHI).

  • Step 4

    Closing

    We prepare all documents for the closing. We process the deed transfer & recording, and notify all necessary state and local municipalities. We assume responsibility for all future tax, maintenance and insurance expenses,
    and send you a tax-deductible receipt.
