Community Housing Innovations (CHI) is a HUD-approved Housing Counseling Agency that provides education, counseling and grant assistance to eligible first-time homebuyers. Our First-Time Homebuyer Orientation is a 90-minute virtual presentation held via Zoom that serves as an introduction to the homebuying process.

During the session, participants will learn about Fair Housing Laws, CHI’s First-Time Homebuyer Grant Program and application process, and the steps involved in purchasing a home. A mortgage lender will explain the components of a mortgage and the mortgage pre-approval process, while a real estate professional will provide valuable information and tips to help you navigate your home search successfully.

Attendance at the orientation is required before submitting a grant application. The Zoom link and participation instructions will be emailed to all registered attendees approximately one week prior to the scheduled orientation date.
