Savitri Choon, MSW

Director of Emergency Housing, Long Island Programs

Ms. Choon began with Community Housing Innovations in 2006 as a Case Manager. She is now the Director of Emergency Housing in the Patchogue office, overseeing some of the Suffolk and Nassau County emergency housing shelters. Throughout her time at Community Housing Innovations, she has worked with individuals, families, and couples who are homeless in both Nassau and Suffolk County.

Prior to working with Community Housing Innovations, Ms. Choon held a position in an elementary public school district as a School Social Worker. Ms. Choon worked closely with teachers, parents and administrators to assist in providing academic and classroom support for children dealing with mental health and behavioral concerns; to achieve a positive learning environment and experience for each child.

Ms. Choon earned her Master of Social Work degree from Adelphi University.
